Affair
There’s a catatonic display
Of forbidden affection
Heated by a cauldron
Of bubbling deceit, igniting
Foreign impulses
That are acted upon instantaneously
Behind the luscious awning of vulnerability
Love is then deposited
Upon lying backs
As shreds of despondency
Streak the morning sky—
Two pairs of eyes stare blankly
Through the beauty of a pink sunrise
Exerting space
As time
And guilt
Begin to swell the emptiness of the next passing days
